Stealing Oceans found its missing piece in the form of incomparable saxophone melodies and riffs after meeting Ryan Swinehart. When Swinehart stepped in to play a show with Stealing Oceans, he instantly fell in love with the people involved and the music they created together. Recently, he took a leading role in the band and also plays a managing position. Together, he and Thompson have created a distinctive sound, allowing them to connect with their fans while reminding them to Stay Youthful, Be Grateful and Always Love.
Pat Graves has been the bassist for Stealing Oceans for the past two years. Brian recruited Pat when they first met at a Nashville awards show; Pat has been playing with Stealing Oceans since. Also known as "FlipADay", Pat brings an acrobatic approach to his on stage performances. Known to bust out a backflip at any given moment, his mission through music and flipping is to inspire others to do what they love every single day: to Inspire Happiness. After less than a year of playing with Stealing Oceans, Pat recruited David Martin to play drums, which created the bond between Stealing Oceans and Mutual Groove (a rhythm section for hire).
Born and raised in Fairfax, VA, David's musical talent became apparent at the age of 11. Drumming became a passionate obsession that would continue to drive him throughout high school. In 2007, he formed a three-piece rock band with two fellow students (including Pat Graves) that would later become Wings of Apollo. David earned a Bachelors of Business Administration Degree from James Madison University to help navigate the band's journey in the music industry. In 2015, David capitalized on his education and launched his own music business, DMart Music. Specializing in recording, graphic design, and beat making, David has ventured into the world of entrepreneurship.
Sam is from Round Hill, VA and attended Berklee College Of Music before chasing his dreams in Nashville, TN. The minute Sam Woods moved to Nashville, he worked tirelessly to pursue his fiery passion for music. Several sessions, years of songwriting and endless nights of touring later, he sat in for two songs with Stealing Oceans and in an instant, the band found its powerhouse lead guitarist. He’s been playing with the band since and though their wave is just starting, he’s determined to keep spreading positive messages one show at a time.
